Remove a hot-swap power supply unit from a power shelf

Follow instructions in this section to remove a hot-swap power supply unit from a power shelf.

About this task

Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. Press and hold the release tab.
  2. Grasp the handle, and pull the power supply unit out of the power shelf.

After you finish

  1. Install a power supply as soon as possible. See Install a hot-swap power supply unit to a power shelf.
  2. If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
