Managing Rolling System Update tasks

You can use the Rolling System Update function to manage rolling update tasks.

About this task

The Rolling System Update function provides a task manager for managing rolling-update tasks. A task contains all of the information and options for a rolling update.

You can perform the following tasks using the task manager:
  • Create a Rolling System Update task. Each cluster can have only one active task when the task type is Update Only, Update and Reboot, or Reboot Only.

  • Edit a Rolling System Update task that has not started.

  • Copy a Rolling System Update task that has completed.

  • Remove a Rolling System Update task from task list.

  • Cancel a Rolling System Update task that is running.

  • View Rolling System Update tasks status.

Procedure

  1. Click Lenovo XClarity Integrator > Rolling System Update.
  2. From the navigation pane, click Task Manager. The Task Manager page is displayed.

    If the preferences have not been set before, the Preferences page is displayed. If preferences have been set already, the Rolling System Update Task Manager page is displayed, and you can click the Preferences link to display the Preferences page.

  3. Perform one of the following steps:
    • Create a task

    • Copy a task

    • Edit a task

    • Remove a task

    • Cancel a task

    • Refresh the task list from the page

    If you click Create or Edit, you can use the Create/Edit Task wizard to create or edit a task.

    • Cannot exit maintenance mode.

    RunningThe firmware update is running.
    SuccessThe firmware update succeeded.
    FailedThe firmware update failed.
