Water loop replacement

Water loop replacement require the following FRUs:

  • SD665 V3 Water Loop Service Kit (The water loop carrier in the Service Kit is reusable, it is recommended to keep it at the facility where the server operates for future replacement needs.)

  • SD665 V3 Water Loop Putty Pad Kit

  • SD665 V3 Conduction Plate Parts

  • VR 2.5 mm Putty Pad

Follow the following procedures to replace the water loop:
  1. Remove the water loop, see Remove the water loop in SD665 V3 User Guide.

  2. Remove the VR conduction plate from the system board, see Step 3 in Remove the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

  3. Take the VR conduction plate from SD665 V3 Conduction Plate Parts . With alcohol cleaning pads, wipe off the putty pad from the VR conduction plate.

  4. Paste VR 2.5 mm Putty Pad to the VR conduction plate.

  5. Install the VR conduction plate to the system board, see Step 3 in Install the braided cables.

  6. Install the water loop, see Install the water loop in SD665 V3 User Guide.

System board replacement

System board replacement require the following FRUs:

  • SD665 V3 Water Loop Service Kit (The water loop carrier in the Service Kit is reusable, it is recommended to keep it at the facility where the server operates for future replacement needs.)

  • SD665 V3 Water Loop Putty Pad Kit

  • VR Conduction Plate Parts

  • VR 2.5 mm Putty Pad

  • Shielding cable 1, 2, and 3

Follow the following procedures to replace the system board:
  1. Remove the system board, see Remove the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

    Note
Make sure to save the VR conduction plate and the screws for next step.
  2. With alcohol cleaning pads, wipe off the putty pad from the VR conduction plate. Then, paste the 2.5 mm Putty Pad for VR Conduction Plate (03LA870) to the bottom of the VR conduction plate.

  3. Place the system board into the node, see Step 1 in Install the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

  4. Install the shielding cages to the system board, see Install the braided cables.

  5. Install the system board to the node. Complete Step 2, Step 4, and After you finish in Install the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.
