Summary of the technical specifications of server. Depending on the model, some features might not be available, or some specifications might not apply.

Processor

  • Designed for LGA 6096 (SP5) socket
  • Supports 4800 MHz DDR5 frequency
  • Supports three x16 xGMI links up to 32 GT/s
  • Supports TDP up to 400W

Memory

Storage expansion
The 4-DW GPU Model supports the following storage configuration:
  • Up to eight 2.5-inch hot-swap SAS/SATA/NVMe drives
The 8-DW GPU Model supports one of the following storage configurations:
  • Up to six E1.S 5.9mm hot-swap drives
  • Up to four E3.S 1T hot-swap drives
The SXM5 GPU Model supports one of the following storage configurations:
  • Up to four 2.5-inch hot-swap NVMe drives
  • Up to four E3.S 1T hot-swap drives
Note
To support Tri-mode with U.3 NVMe drives, U.3 x1 mode must be enabled for the selected drive slots on the backplane through the XCC Web GUI. Otherwise, the U.3 NVMe drives cannot be detected. For more information, see U.3 NVMe drive can be detected in NVMe connection, but cannot be detected in Tri-mode for more information.

    Note
    PCIe slot 3-10 may operate at x8 link width when direct GPU distribution boards are installed in the 8-DW GPU Model.

Graphics processing unit (GPU)
The 4-DW GPU Model supports the following GPU configuration:
  • Up to four PCIe x16, double-wide, FH/FL GPUs
The 8-DW GPU Model supports the following GPU configuration:
  • Up to eight PCIe x16, double-wide, FH/FL GPUs
The SXM5 GPU Model supports one of the following GPU configurations:
  • NVIDIA HGX H100 4-GPU
  • NVIDIA HGX H200 4-GPU

Integrated functions and I/O connectors
  • Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC), which provides service processor control and monitoring functions, video controller, and remote keyboard, video, mouse, and remote drive capabilities.
  • Front connectors:
    • One USB 3.2 Gen 1 connector (optional)
    • One USB 2.0 connector with XCC system management function (optional)
    • One VGA connector (optional)
    • One external diagnostics connector (optional)
  • Rear connectors:
    • A group of two or four Ethernet connectors on the OCP 3.0 module (optional)
    • One XClarity Controller network connector (RJ-45 Ethernet connector)
    • Three USB 3.2 Gen1 connectors
    • One VGA connector
    • One serial port (optional)

  • One OCP module, which provides two or four Ethernet connectors for network support
  • One OSFP port card with either two 400Gb or two 800Gb OSFP ports, connecting to four ConnectX-7 chip sets on the CX-7 mezz board (SXM5 GPU Model only)

The server supports N+N, N+0, N+1 policies with OVS always ON.

Important
Power supplies and redundant power supplies in the server must be with the same power rating, wattage or level.
Minimal configuration for debugging
  • One processor in socket 1
  • One DRAM memory module in slots 6
  • Two power supply units in bay 1 and 2
  • One boot drive, M.2, 2.5-inch, EDSFF E1.S 5.9mm drive, or E3.S 1T drive and RAID adapter if configured. (If OS is needed by debugging)
  • Five system fans
  • One OCP module with required cable (if network is required)
