Install the TCM/TPM adapter (for Chinese Mainland only)

Use this information to install the TCM/TPM adapter.

Before installing the TCM/TPM adapter:

  1. Read the safety information and installation guidelines (see Safety and Installation Guidelines).

  2. Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

  3. Disconnect the USB 3.0 cable of operator panel tray assembly, and remove it vertically from the system board.

To install the TCM/TPM adapter, complete the following steps:

  1. Locate the TCM/TPM connector on the system board (seeSystem-board connectors).
  2. Insert the TCM/TPM adapter into the TCM/TPM connector on the system board.
    Note

    • Carefully handle the TCM/TPM adapter by its edges.

    • Your TCM/TPM adapter might look slightly different from the illustration.

After installing the TCM/TPM adapter, complete the following steps:

  1. Finish installing the system board (see Install the system board).

  2. Reinstall the top cover (see Install the top cover).

  3. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.

  4. Power on the server and any peripheral devices.
