Follow this procedure to install the front panel.

Power off the server for this task

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Before installing the front panel:

1. Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

To install the front panel, complete the following steps:

1. Carefully route the cables through the gap below drive bay 4.

2. Align the screw hole on the front panel to the corresponding ones on the chassis; then, secure the front panel with three screws.

3. Connect the front panel and USB cables to the system board. To locate the connectors on the system board, see System board components.
