Mirror Configuration

Table 1. Mirror Configuration
ItemOptionsDescription
Mirror Fail-Over
  • Disabled

  • Enabled (Default)

Enable or disable mirror fail-over.

  • When [Enabled] is selected, a persistent memory uncorrectable error will trigger mirror fail-over.

  • When [Disabled] is selected, mirror fail-over is skipped even if a persistent uncorrectable error happens.

Note
  • This item only takes effect when Full Mirror or Partial Mirror is [Enabled].

  • This item is not supported for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM).

Configuration Made From OS

N/A

Display the memory mirror configuration that was defined by the OS utility.

When a definition is found, you can use Delete Configuration Made From OS to clear it.

Mirror Below 4GB

None

Display the mirroring configuration of memory below 4 GB.

Note
The option may be [TRUE] or [FALSE] after the OS has configured memory mirroring.
Partial Mirror Ratio In Basis Points

None

Display the mirroring ratio for the memory above 4GB in basis points.

Mirror options are 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40%, which respectively represents 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, and 4000. Any other numbers entered will be rounded to the nearest greater number. For example, if a number is greater than 2000 but less than or equal to 2500 (that is, 2000 < number <=2500), it will be rounded to 2500. Numbers greater than 4000 (> 4000) will be rounded to 4000.

Note
  • The option may be a value within the range of 1 – 5000 after the OS has configured memory mirroring.

  • This item is not available for Intel® Xeon® 6 processors (formerly codenamed "Sierra Forest").

Configuration Made From UEFI

N/A

Display the memory mirror configuration that was defined by the UEFI Setup utility.

If a value defined by the UEFI Setup utility conflicts with that defined by the OS, the value defined by the OS will take precedence.

Full Mirror
  • Disabled (Default)

  • Enabled

Full mirroring reduces the available system memory by half of the total installed memory.

This setting is [Disabled] and grayed out when ADDDC Sparing or Partial Mirror is [Enabled].

Partial Mirror
  • Disabled (Default)

  • Enabled

Partial mirroring reduces the available system memory by percentage of up to 40% per processor. The percentage is set by Partial Mirror Ratio In Basis Points.

This setting is [Disabled] and grayed out when ADDDC Sparing or Full Mirror is [Enabled].

Note
This item is not available for Intel® Xeon® 6 processors (formerly codenamed "Sierra Forest").
Mirror Below 4GB
  • Disabled (Default)

  • Enabled

When this option is enabled, all available system memory below the 4 GB address limit will be mirrored; typically 1 GB to 3 GB.

Note
This item is not available for Intel® Xeon® 6 processors (formerly codenamed "Sierra Forest").
Partial Mirror Ratio In Basis Points
  • Value range: 1 – 4000

  • 200 (Default)

Configure the mirroring ratio for the memory above 4GB in basis points.

For example, if a number is greater than 2000 but less than or equal to 2500 (that is, 2000 < number <= 2500), it will be rounded to 2500. Numbers greater than 4000 (> 4000) will be rounded to 4000.
