Installing a PCI riser-card assembly

Use this information to install a PCI riser-card assembly.

1. Read the safety information that begins in Safety and Installation guidelines.
2. Turn off the server (see Turning off the server) and all attached peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables from the server.
3. Remove the top cover (see Removing the server top cover).
4. Install the adapter in the PCI riser-card assembly (see Installing an adapter).
5. Align the PCI riser-card assembly with the PCI slot connector on the system board and align nailheads with the slots on the chassis; then, press down firmly until the riser-card assembly is seated correctly in the connector on the system board.
