Install a ejector bar to the rack

Follow instructions in this section to install a ejector bar to the rack.

About this task

Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Note
Ensure the following tools are available to perform the replacement:
  • Torque screwdriver
  • Torx T25 bit

Procedure

Set the torque screwdriver to 26 ± 1 inch-pounds; then, install the 9RU ejector bar onto the front of the rack by tightening the nice screws.
Note
There are three ejector bars per side. If necessary, use the same procedure to install the remaining bars.
