Management functions

Lenovo XClarity One leverages management hubs to perform management functions on managed devices. You can control whether to allow XClarity One and XClarity Management Hub 2.0 to perform management function on your devices. If all management functions are disabled, XClarity One only monitors your devices and is not permitted to make changes to your devices.

You can enable and disable functions on a specific management hub by clicking Functions from the context menu on the Security view from the XClarity Management Hub 2.0 web interface.

The following device-management functions are supported.

  • Power actions. This function is used to power on, power off, and restart devices that are managed by this management hub.

This function is enabled by default.

  • Firmware updates. This function is used to maintain appropriate firmware levels on devices that are managed by this management hub. You can use the firmware-updates repository to know what firmware versions are available, use firmware-compliance policies to identify which devices need to be updated based on custom criteria, and then deploy the desired updates to those devices.

This function is enabled by default.
