Remove an M.2 heat sink

Follow instructions in this section to remove an M.2 heat sink.

Attention

Procedure

  1. Push the tabs on the heat-sink tray to disengage the M.2 heat sink.
    Note
    If necessary, push the tabs with a flat-head screwdriver.
  2. Lift the M.2 heat sink from the tray.
  3. Slide the M.2 drive outward to remove it from the tray.

  • Install a replacement unit. See Install an M.2 heat sink.
