Disassemble the system board assembly for recycle

Follow the instructions in this section to disassemble the system board assembly before recycling.

Before disassembling the system board assembly:

  1. Remove the system board assembly from the server. See Remove the processor board.

  2. Refer to local environmental, waste or disposal regulations to ensure compliance.

  1. Remove the following component as illustrated:

  2. Remove the following component as illustrated:

    Note

    To prevent the contact of the IO board from damage, pinch and lift the plunger on the IO board upward a little and pull out the IO board outward. During the entire pulling action, ensure that the IO board remains as horizontal as possible.

  3. Remove the following component as illustrated:

    Separate following parts from the system board assembly:

    • 1 Cable wall (left)

    • 2 Firmware and RoT Security Module

    • 3 System I/O board

    • 4 Cable wall (right)

    • 5 Handle

    • 6 Supporting metal sheet

    Separate the system board assembly from the supporting sheet metal.

After disassembling the system board assembly, recycle the units in compliance with local regulations.
