Remove the rails from the rack

Follow instructions in this section to remove the rails from the rack.

Based on the configuration, see corresponding instructions below for proper removal procedure:

ThinkSystem SR670 V2/SR675 V3 Toolless Slide Rail Kit​

Remove the rails from the rack.
Rack Front

  • 1 Latch
Rack Rear

  • 1 Latch
  • Pull the latch towards the flange holes.
  • Slide the rail backward to disengage pins from the flange holes.
  • Pull the latch towards the flange holes.
  • Slide the rail backward to disengage pins from the flange holes.

ThinkSystem SR670 V2/SR675 V3 Heavy Systems Toolless Slide Rail Kit​

  1. Retract the rails into fully retracted state.
    • Insert the inner rails into the intermediate rails until it stops.
    • Lift the lock latches up.
    • Push the inner rails in to fully retracted state.
  2. If the sever has been secured to the rack, use a flat-head, hex socket, or Phillips driver to remove the washer and the M5 screw on both sides.
    Rear

  3. Remove the rails from the rack.
    Front

    		Rear

    • Rotate and hold the latch on the front end.
    • Push the rail forward and remove the rail from the front mounting flanges.
    • Pull the hook latch up to disengage the rear end of the rail.
    • Remove the rail from the rear mounting flanges.
