Install a 4U PCIe riser assembly

Use this procedure to install a 4U PCIe riser assembly.

1. Remove the PCIe expansion tray (see Remove the PCIe expansion tray) to install the PCIe connector guide.

2. Reinstall the PCIe expansion tray (see Install the PCIe expansion tray) and remove the 4U PCIe riser assembly fillers if any are installed.
3. Align the 4U PCIe riser assembly with the rear chassis and the guide pins on the side of the PCIe expansion tray; then, insert the 4U PCIe riser assembly into the slot.
4. Rotate the lever downward until it clicks. Make sure the 4U PCIe riser assembly is fully seated into the PCIe expansion tray.
   Note

   To maintain proper system cooling, if only one 4U PCIe riser assembly is installed, the 4U PCIe riser assembly filler must be installed to operate the server.
