Troubleshooting scenarios and tips

The following ThinkAgile SXM Series network connectivity issues can often be identified and resolved quickly.

Network connectivity issues

The following actions can help resolve network connection issues:

  • Ensure that the DNS settings are correct.

  • Ensure that the border switch settings are correct.

  • Check for any errors in the switch configuration file.

  • Check the data path. Ping between the next hop interfaces from the TOR and BMC switches.

  • Check the gateway. Each switch in the solution should be able to ping the point-to-point links and IP addresses of the other switches.

  • Test the connection between the server host nodes and the network devices. Ping from the server nodes to the network devices and towards the uplink to the external network.

Lenovo XClarity Administrator cannot find one or more nodes in the rack

Ensure that all the components in the rack are connected according to the point-to-point diagrams and tables.

Cannot open the server IMM/XCC login page

Ensure that the IMM/XCC IP settings match those on the deployment worksheet.
