Collecting service data
This topic provides information about collecting service data.
You can use the Electronic Service Agent or the first-failure data capture (FFDA) tool to monitor, track, and capture system hardware errors and hardware and software inventory information, and report serviceable problems directly to Lenovo Support. You can also choose to collect data manually. Using the Electronic Service Agent or the FFDA tool, all information sent to Lenovo is encrypted and stored in a secure Lenovo database and used for improved problem determination.
- The Electronic Service Agent is integrated into the Flex System Manager Service and Support Manager and is available if you have installed the Flex System Manager management software. For more information about the Electronic Service Agent and how to set it up, see documentation at "Setting up Electronic Service Agent (ESA)".
- The FFDA tool is integrated into the IMM2. For more information about accessing the IMM2, see Accessing the IMM2.
