Removing the power paddle card

Use this information to remove the power paddle card.

Read the safety information in Safety and Installation guidelines.

If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.

To remove the power paddle card, complete the following steps.

  1. Carefully turn the server on its side so that it is lying flat, with the cover facing up.
    Attention
    Do not allow the server to fall over.
  2. Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see Removing the left-side cover).
  3. Remove the air baffle (see Removing the air baffle).
  4. Remove all PCIe cards from the system board.
  5. Remove the fan cage assembly (see Removing the fan cage assembly),
  6. Disconnect all connected cables from the system board (see Internal cable routing and connectors).
  7. Remove the power supplies (see Removing a hot-swap power supply).
  8. Remove the system board (see Removing the system board),
  9. Grasp on the plunger of paddle card cage assembly and pull it toward the front of the server firstly, then, lift it out of the server.

  10. Disconnect the cables from the power paddle card (see Internal cable routing and connectors).
  11. Loosen the 4 screws to release the fixed power paddle card.

  12. Or loosen the 6 screws to release the redundant power paddle card.
