Neighbor Group Management

The Lenovo XClarity Controller Neighbor Group Management is a virtual management group among Lenovo ThinkSystem servers which manage multiple servers on a single XCC.

Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) is an integrated service processor that replaces the well-known Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) for Lenovo ThinkSystem servers to provide server configuration, management, and monitor functions.

Typically, XCC can only manage a single server. However, its centralized management software, the Lenovo XClarity Administrator (LXCA) facilitates scalability management to multiple servers. If LXCA is not deployed in the field, especially for SMB users, each node has to be configured one by one which is an inefficient process. To counter this scenario, the XCC neighbor group feature is designed to build a virtual management group among Lenovo ThinkSystem servers which manage multiple servers on a single XCC. It provides a flexible way of initiating speedy deployment for multiple servers within a local network segment.
