Neighbor nodes discovery

Use the information in this topic to discover neighbor nodes.

Each XCC instance discovers the neighbor servers in the same local network segment using Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP) multicast message.

These are the prerequisites for a server to be discovered by an XCC instance:

  1. Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP) port 1900 is enabled in XCC (BMC Configuration –> Network –> SSDP).

  2. Neighbor Group Management is configured to be enabled (disabled by default).

The Discovery page helps monitor the system information, real-time power and health status for all discovered nodes. The Last Time Alive column indicates the time stamp of receiving the last SSDP message from neighbor nodes. It is updated regularly unless the neighbor node is off-line, or SSDP/Neighbor Group Management setting is disabled.
