Remove the leakage drip pan assembly from the rack

Disconnect power
CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
CAUTION
Electrical current from power, telephone, and communication cables is hazardous. To avoid a shock hazard:
  • Connect all power cords to a properly wired and grounded electrical outlet/source.
  • Connect any equipment that will be attached to this product to properly wired outlets/sources.
  • When possible, use one hand only to connect or disconnect signal cables.
  • Never turn on any equipment when there is evidence of fire, water, or structural damage.
  • The device might have more than one power cord, to remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Note
Ensure the following tools are available to perform the replacement:
  • Torque screwdriver
  • Torx T10 bit

Procedure

  1. Make preparation for this task.
    1. Disconnect all power sources to avoid electric shock.
      1. Press and hold the latches on both sides of the power whip.
      2. Pull out the power whip.
      Note
      Removing the power whip may require two people to ensure sufficient force is applied for a proper disconnection.

    2. Remove four to five compute trays above the leakage drip pan to gain access to the rear screws. See Remove a compute tray from the rack.
    3. Remove two to three rails above the leakage drip pan to gain access to the front screws. See Remove the rails from the rack.
  2. Remove the leakage drip pan.
    1. Loosen the four screws securing the pan.
    2. Lift the pan out of the rack.

  3. Remove the top leakage drip tray.
    1. Disconnect the hose.
    2. Pull the tray straight out to remove it.

  4. Remove the bottom leakage drip tray.
    1. Disconnect the hose.
    2. Loosen the two screws securing the tray.
    3. Remove the tray out of the rack.
