Remove a fan shroud

Follow instructions in this section to remove a fan shroud.

CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Attention
Proceed to the section corresponding to the fan shroud to be removed:

Remove a desktop mount fan shroud​

Procedure

  1. Let the top side of the node facing up.
  2. Remove the fan shroud.
    1. Remove the four screws that secure the fan shroud to the node.
    2. Lift up the fan shroud from the node, and place it on a flat clean surface.
      Attention
      Service label is located on the inside of the fan shroud.

After you finish

  • Install a replacement unit or a rack mount fan shroud before installing the node into the enclosure.

  • If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

Remove a rack mount fan shroud​

Procedure

  1. Let the top side of the node facing up.
  2. Remove the fan shroud.
    1. Remove the two screws that secure the fan shroud to the node.
    2. Lift up the fan shroud from the node, and place it on a flat clean surface.
      Attention
      Service label is located on the inside of the fan shroud.

After you finish

  1. Install a replacement unit or proceed to the steps below if the node is not to be installed to the enclosure.

  2. If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
