Complete the parts replacement

Go through the checklist to complete parts replacement.

To complete the parts replacement, do the following:
  1. Make sure that all components have been reassembled correctly and that no tools or loose screws are left inside the node.

  2. Properly route and secure the cables in the node. Refer to the cable connecting and routing information for each component (see Internal cable routing).

  3. If applicable, reinstall the air baffle (see Install an air baffle).

  4. If applicable, install the top cover onto the node (see Install the top cover).

  5. If necessary, reinstall the node back into an enclosure or node sleeve (see Configuration guide).

  6. If necessary, install any locking devices that secure the top cover, such as a Kensington lock.

  7. After checking and making sure that all necessary items are in place, reconnect all external cables and then the power cords to the server.

    Attention

To avoid component damage, connect all the other cables before connecting the power cords.

  8. If the security LED of the server is blinking, activate or unlock the system. See Activate or unlock the system.

  9. Power on the server (see Power on the server).

  10. If necessary, reinstall the security bezel or shipping bracket back into place (see Configuration guide).

  11. Update the server configuration.
