Install the top intrusion switch with cable

Follow instructions in this section to install the top intrusion switch with cable.

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Attention

• Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

• Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Note

The intrusion switch with cable for replacement might come with different colors, but the function is the same.

Procedure

1. Align the intrusion switch cable with the guide pin and hole on the bracket; then, insert the intrusion switch cable to the bracket.

2. Install the intrusion switch.
   1. Push the intrusion switch toward the chassis and align the opening of the bracket with the guide pin; then, slide the intrusion switch toward the guide pin until it stops.
   2. Secure the intrusion switch with one screw.

3. Connect the intrusion switch cable to the system board.
