Complete the parts replacement

Go through this checklist before completing parts replacement.

To complete parts replacement, go through the following list:
  1. Ensure that all the removed components have been properly reinstalled and that no tools or loose screws are left inside your server.

  2. Properly route and secure the cables in the server. Refer to Internal cable routing for each component that is installed.

  3. If the top covers have been removed, reinstall it. See Install the top covers.

  4. If applicable, reinstall the security bezel. See Install the security bezel cable module.

  5. Reconnect external cables and power cords to the server.
    To avoid component damage, connect the power cords last.
  6. Update the server configuration.

    • Download and install the latest device drivers: Lenovo Data Center Support.

    • Update the system firmware. See Firmware updates.

    • Update the UEFI configuration.

    • Reconfigure the disk arrays if you have installed or removed a hot-swap drive or a RAID adapter. See the Lenovo XClarity Provisioning Manager User Guide, which is available for download at: Lenovo Data Center Support.

Make sure the latest version of ThinkSystem M.2 with Mirroring Enablement Kit Firmware is applied to avoid virtual disk/array missing after system board replacement.
