Disassemble the system board for recycle

Follow the instructions in this section to disassemble the system board before recycling.

About this task

Before disassembling the system board:

  1. Remove the system board from the server. See Remove the system board.

  2. Remove the cable wall with heat sink detect switch. See Remove the cable wall with heat sink detect switch.

  3. Refer to local environmental, waste or disposal regulations to ensure compliance.

Procedure

  1. Loosen the three screws that secure the front cable wall with PH2 screwdriver, and remove the cable wall from the system board.

  2. Remove the following components as illustrated, and separate the system board from the supporting sheet metal.

    • Seven screws (PH 2 screwdriver)

    • One guide pin (7 mm hex head screwdriver, inner depth≥25mm)

    • One plunger (16mm hex head screwdriver, inner depth≥10mm)

After this task is completed

After disassembling the system board, recycle the unit in compliance with local regulations.
