Note

  • For a 2 x 3.5/4 x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA rear backplane, the 16i adapter1 is installed on PCIe slot 2.

  • For a 4 x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA rear backplane, the 16i adapter1 is installed on PCIe slot 3.

Below illustration uses the 4 x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA backplane as an example for cable routing. Cable routing for the other backplanes is similar.

Connections between connectors: 1 ↔ 1, 2 ↔ 2, 3 ↔ 3, ... n ↔ n
