Backplanes: server models with 3.5-inch drive backplanes

This section provides backplane cable connection information for server models with 3.5-inch drive backplanes.

Before you start​

Ensure below parts are removed before starting cable routing for front backplanes.

Power cable connections​

Connect the power cables for the front 3.5-inch drive backplanes as illustrated.

  • 8 x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA front drive backplane

  • 12 x 3.5-inch front drive backplanes

    Power cable connections for the below front drive backplanes are the same.

    • 12 x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA drive backplane

    • 12 x 3.5-inch AnyBay drive backplane

    • 12 x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA Expander drive backplane

    • 12 x 3.5-inch AnyBay Expander drive backplane
