Assemble the M.2 interposer and drive

Follow the instructions in this section to assemble the M.2 interposer and drive.

About this task

Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.
Note
Make sure you have a torque screwdriver available to properly replace the component.

Procedure

  1. Install the M.2 interposer to the tray.
    1. Align the interposer to the guiding pins on the tray.
    2. Tighten the four screws to secure the interposer.
    Note
    Tighten the screws with a torque screwdriver set to the proper torque. For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully tighten is 0.2 ± 0.03 newton-meters.

  2. Install the M.2 drive to the interposer
    1. Hold the M.2 drive at an angle, and insert the drive to the interposer slot.
    2. Press the drive down to the interposer.
    3. Tighten the screw to secure the drive.
    Note
    Tighten the screw with a torque screwdriver set to the proper torque. For reference, the torque required for the screw to be fully tighten is 0.2 ± 0.03 newton-meters.
