Install the OCP interposer card

Follow instructions in this section to install the OCP interposer card. The procedure must be executed by a trained technician.

About this task

Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Note
Make sure you have a torque screwdriver available to properly replace the component.

Procedure

  1. Install the OCP interposer card.
    1. Align the card with the standoffs on the NVMe drive and PCIe switch board cage; then, place the card onto the cage.
    2. Tighten the four screws to secure the card.
    Note
Tighten the screws with a torque screwdriver set to the proper torque. For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully tighten is 1.25 ± 0.25 newton-meters.

  3. If necessary, attach the labels to both ends of the power and signal cables.
    1. Attach the white space portion of the label to one end of the cable.
    2. Wrap the label around the cable and attach it to the white space portion.
    3. Repeat to attach the other label to the opposite end of the cable.
