Acoustic/Thermal optimal performance

Intelligent Cooling Performance Mode menu allows you to adjust server performance to achieve optimal acoustic or thermal conditions.

Note
When Load Optimal Defaults is selected, the Intelligent Cooling Performance Mode will return to its default settings as Best Performance. Make sure to set the Performance Mode according to your system configuration.
Three modes are available in Performance Mode menu:
  • Best Experience: This mode allows the server to work with less noise at normal thermal level, and applies to the following configuration:

    • Up to two drives, zero or one M.2 drive module, and zero or one slime OSS

    • Up to one PCIe adapter (not including GPU adapter)

  • Best Performance: This mode allows the server to work at a lower thermal level with normal acoustic performance, and applies to the following configuration:

    • Up to three drives, zero or one M.2 drive module, and zero or one slime OSS

    • Up to one PCIe adapter (not including GPU adapter)

  • Full Speed: This mode allows the server to work with optimal performance. There is no limitation of drive or adapter configuration for this mode, but there will be more acoustic noise.

To switch between better acoustic and thermal performance mode, complete the following steps:
  1. Start the Setup Utility program, see Starting the Setup Utility program.
  2. Select Power > Intelligent Cooling and press Enter.
  3. Select Performance Mode and press Enter.
  4. Select the desired option, and press Enter.
  5. To save settings and exit the Setup Utility program, press F10; then, select Yes in the displayed window, and press Enter.
