Install the internal CFF adapter
Use this information to install the internal CFF RAID adapter, internal CFF HBA adapter, or internal CFF RAID expander adapter.
About this task
Read Installation guidelines to ensure that you work safely.
Power off the server and disconnect all power cords for this task.
Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.
Location of the internal CFF adapter.
- Align the holes on the CFF adapter with those on its tray, put down the CFF adapter on its tray, and tighten the screws to secure them.Figure 2. Internal CFF adapter tray installation
- Align the notches on the tray with the pins on the chassis, place down the CFF adapter, and slightly slide it as shown to secure it on the chassis.Figure 3. Internal CFF adapter installation
- Close the release pin to secure the CFF adapter into position.
- Connect the cables to the CFF adapter. See Internal CFF RAID adapter cable routing.
After you finish
Reinstall the fan cage. See Install the fan cage assembly.
Reinstall all the fans. See Install a hot-swap fan.
Reinstall all the full-length GPU adapters. See Install a full-length GPU adapter.
Reinstall the air baffle. See Install the air baffle.
Reinstall all the flash power modules. See Install a flash power module.
