Configuring DNS entries

Make sure that you have configured the hostnames and IP addresses for the nodes in the cluster with the DNS server.

Minimally, you will need to configure the following DNS entries:

  • Each of the ESXi hosts that will be included in the vSAN cluster

  • The ThinkAgile VX Deployer VM

  • Optionally, the Lenovo XClarity Integrator (LXCI) appliance. You need to configure a DNS entry for LXCI if you are using LXCI and vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vCLM) to manage the hardware from vCenter.

  • Optionally, vCSA if you are planning to install vSphere as part of the vSAN cluster.
