Deploying the vSAN cluster

To deploy the vSAN cluster using the VX Deployer, set up the VX Deployer, and then run the VX Deployer. When the deployment is complete, validate that the deployment was successful.

  • Setting up the VX Deployer
    Before running the VX Deployer to deploy a vSAN cluster, make sure that you have cabled the VX appliances to the network.
  • Running the VX Deployer
    Use the VX Deployer to install the vSAN cluster. You can install a new vCenter instance as well, or you can use an existing vCenter instance to manage the cluster.
  • Configuring LXCI
    If you are using LXCI to manage the hardware in the vSAN cluster, you need to register LXCI with vCenter and discover the nodes that make up the vSAN cluster.
  • Validating the deployment
    After completing the deployment, the vSAN cluster should be available.
  • Troubleshooting the deployment
    This process may take some time, depending on the network and the number of node being deployed in the cluster.
