RNDIS Settings

This section provides RNDIS driver configuration for Windows Server or Windows 10/11.

To open the RNDIS Configuration page, click Settings > RNDIS Settings.

  • RNDIS Mode: select RNIDS device vendor:

    • AMI RNDIS Device: device provided by AMI for Windows Sever.

    • Lenovo RNDIS Device: device provided by Lenovo for Windows 10/11.

  • Click Save to save the configuration.

The feature has been supported since version AMBT34O (5.44). The default mode is AMI RNIDS Device. If the server is running Windows 10/11, you should choose Lenovo RNIDS Device. When you choose Lenovo RNDIS device to install RNDIS driver on Windows 10/11, pay attention to the following cases:

  • Lenovo RNDIS Device mode was set on version AMBT34O. When you upgrade BMC from version AMBT34O (5.44) to AMBT34P (5.45) or higher versions, the Lenovo RNDIS Device mode will be restored to the default AMI mode, so you must select Lenovo mode again after BMC upgrades successfully.

  • If you upgrade BMC from version AMBT34P (5.45) to higher versions, no actions are required. BMC will keep the previous Lenovo RNDIS mode until BMC loads default to restore the default AMI mode.
