Replacing the air baffle

Use this information to replace the air baffle.

Note

When you install the second microprocessor, you must also install fan 2 and the air baffle that come with the second microprocessor upgrade kit.

To replace the air baffle, complete the following steps:

1. Read the safety information that begins in Safety and Installation guidelines.
2. Turn off the server (see Turning off the server) and all attached peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables as necessary to replace the device.
3. Remove the left-side cover (see Removing the left-side cover).
4. Remove the existing air baffle (see Removing the air baffle).
5. Touch the static-protective package that contains the air baffle; then, remove the air baffle from the package.
6. Slide the air baffle down into the server until the tabs fit into the locating holes.
