Use this information to replace the hard disk drive cage assembly.

If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to slide the server out from the rack enclosure, turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
To replace the hard disk drive cage assembly, complete the following steps.
- Make sure the front I/O cable and the thermal sensor cable are placed properly on the hard disk drive cage.
- Do not damage the cables including the front I/O cable and thermal sensor cable during the installation.
- Align the hard disk drive cage assembly bottom with the cage pin holes on the server chassis.
- Lower the hard disk drive cage assembly into the server. Press the hard disk drive cage assembly inward until it is securely seated.

- Reinstall the hard disk drive backplane and connect the cables.
- Reinstall the cables, including hard disk drive backplane configure cable (x1), hard disk drive backplane power cable (x2), SAS cables (x8), thermal sensor cable (x1) and front I/O cable (x2).
- Reinstall the system fan (see Replacing a system fan).
- Reinstall the system management board cover (see Installing the system management board cover).
- Reinstall the fan cage cover (see Installing the fan cage cover).
- Reinstall the hard disk drive (see Installing a hot-swap hard disk drive).
- Install the server into the rack enclosure and push the server into the rack until it clicks into place.
- Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
- Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
