Remove an NVLink switch tray from the rack
Follow instructions in this section to remove an NVLink switch tray from the rack. The procedure must be executed by a trained technician.

Attention
Do not leave multiple trays open at the same time, as it may increase the risk of over-tilting or instability.


Attention
- Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
- Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
- Power off the NVLink switch tray and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the rack solution.
Note
Ensure the following tools are available to perform the replacement.
- Customer / Self-maintainer responsibility:
- Two 5L containers (one labeled with “Fresh” and one labeled with Waste") with integrated hose mounts
- Approved coolant: PG25, NALCO® TCS101, or HPCCL2000 (Deionized water premixed with a compatible antimicrobial agent)
- Air compressor
- Vendor: e.g., Milwaukee
- Max Pressure: 150 PSI +/- 1 PSI
- Airflow: 1.4 CFM at 0 PSI
- Hose: 36” with brass chuck
- Cordless transfer pump
- Vendor: e.g., Milwaukee
- Flow rate: 480 GPH
- Connections: ¾” Brass (standard garden hose connection)
- Lift/Head: 18’ max suction lift
- Lift tool (Genie Lift GL-8 material lift or ServerLIFT SL-350X)
- Nitrogen cylinder (Airgas-NI 80A-Industrial grade Nitrogen, size 80 high pressure aluminum cylinder, CGA 580)
- Nitrogen regulator (Airgas HCL3001036 – Harris® Model 425-50PSI-CGA580 Heavy-Duty Single-Stage Industrial Regulator for Argon, Helium, and Nitrogen)

- Air input kit: Connects the air compressor to the tray
- Coolant drain kit: Connects the tray to the drainage / coolant container
- Coolant fill kit: Connects the pump to the tray

- Nitrogen release kit with gauge: Connects the tray to the drainage container
- Nitrogen supply kit: Connects the tray to the nitrogen cylinder regulator

After you finish
If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

Open the handles on both sides of the tray.
Hold the handles and slide the tray out until it stops.


Remove the inner rail from the tray.
Attach the air input kit to the right quick connector on the rear of the tray.
Connect the opposite end of air input kit to the air compressor.
