Remove the lower power distribution board

Use this information to remove the lower power distribution board.

1. Make preparations for this task.
   1. Turn off the solution and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables (see Power off the compute node).
   2. If the solution is installed in a rack, remove the solution from the rack (see Remove the server/solution from the rails).
      CAUTION

      To avoid a drop hazard, slide the enclosure out of the rack slowly and steadily. Make sure to grip the enclosure with both hands when pulling it forward on the slide rails and lifting it out of the rack. Use safe practices when lifting.
   3. Remove the components listed below from the enclosure in the following order:

      • Compute node(s) (see Remove a compute node from the enclosure).

      • System Management Module 2 (see Remove the hot-swap SMM2).

      • Power supplies (see Remove a hot-swap power supply).

      • Enclosure cover (see Remove the enclosure cover).

      • Upper power distribution board (see Remove the upper power distribution board).

      • Enclosure air baffles (see Remove the enclosure air baffles).

2. Disconnect the fan cables and the interconnect cables for power distribution boards (see Power distribution boards and fan cables).
   1. Disconnect the three fan cables from the lower power distribution board.
   2. Disconnect the two interconnect cables (bundled together as illustrated) from the lower power distribution board.

3. Loosen the captive screw and release the lower power distribution board from the T-head posts.
   1. Loosen the captive screw on the lower power distribution board with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
   2. Grasp the two standoffs located in the middle and on the left side of the lower power distribution board and slide the board towards the left to disengage the three T-head posts from the keyholes on the board.

4. Remove the lower power distribution board from the enclosure.
   1. Slightly lift up the lower power distribution board and rotate the front of the board upwards to a vertical position.
   2. Lift the lower power distribution board out of the enclosure.
