Remove the bottom cover

Follow instructions in this section to remove the bottom cover.

Attention

• Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.

• If the node is installed in an enclosure or mounted, remove the node from the enclosure or mount. See Configuration guide.

Procedure

1. Turn the keylock to the unlock position with the key.

2. Remove the bottom cover.
   1. Press and hold the button to disengage the cover.
   2. Slide and lift the cover to remove it from the chassis; then, place it on a flat clean surface.
   Attention

   To make sure that there is adequate system cooling, install both top cover and bottom cover before powering on the server. Operating the server with the covers removed might damage server components.

3. Turn the keylock to the lock position with the key, and store the key for future use.
