Remove the bottom M.2 cabled adapter and M.2 drives
Follow instructions in this section to remove the bottom M.2 adapter and M.2 drives.
About this task
Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.
If the node is installed in an enclosure or mounted, remove the node from the enclosure or mount. See Configuration guide.
If one or more NVMe solid-state drives are to be removed, it is recommended to disable them beforehand via the operating system.
Before you remove or make changes to drives, drive controllers (including controllers that are integrated on the system board), drive backplanes, or drive cables, make sure to back up all important data stored in drives.
Before you remove any component of a RAID array (drive, RAID card, etc.), back up all RAID configuration information.
Procedure
- Remove the bottom cover. See Remove the bottom cover.
- Remove the bottom air baffle. See Remove the bottom air baffle.
Remove an M.2 drive
If necessary, remove an M.2 drive from the bottom M.2 cabled adapter.
