Install the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE

Use this information to install the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE.

About this task

CAUTION
Power off the server and disconnect all power cords from their power sources before performing this procedure.
Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines to ensure that you work safely.

  • Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.

Procedure

  1. Touch the static-protective package that contains the new adapter to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the adapter out of the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
  2. If a filler is installed, remove it.
  3. Install the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE.
    Note
    Ensure that the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE is fully seated and the screw is securely tightened. Otherwise, the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE will not get full connection and may not function.

    1. Slide the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE into the slot until it is fully seated.
    2. Tighten the screw to secure the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE.
  4. Connect the cable to the OCP enablement kit for vSphere DSE. See DPU adapter.
