Install the mounting ears
Follow instructions in this section to install the mounting ears.
About this task
Attention
- Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
- Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Note
Make sure you have Phillips #1 head screwdriver available to properly replace the component.
Procedure
- Align the right mounting ear with the screw holes on the side of the chassis; then, fasten the five screws to secure the right mounting ear to the chassis.Figure 1. Right mounting ear installation
- Align the left mounting ear with the screw holes on the side of the chassis; then, fasten the five screws to secure the left mounting ear to the chassis.Figure 2. Left mounting ear installation
