Remove the server from the rails

Follow this procedure to remove the server from the rails.

disconnect all power
CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Procedure

Note
Your system might looks slightly different from the illustration below.

  1. Remove the two M6 x 16 screws on the front of the rack cabinet.

  2. Remove the server from the rails.
    1. Slide and pull the rack server tray out of the rack cabinet.
    2. Lift the server out of the tray.

After you finish
  1. Place the server on its side with the cover up.

  2. To install the server to the rails, see Install the server to the rails.
