Install the M.2 boot adapter
Follow instructions in this section to install the M.2 boot adapter.
About this task
- S002CAUTIONThe power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Go to Drivers and Software download website for ThinkSystem ST50 V3 to see the latest firmware and driver updates for your server.
Go to Update the firmware for more information on firmware updating tools.
Procedure
After you finish
Install the M.2 drives to the M.2 boot adapter. See Install an M.2 drive.

PCIe slot 3. Connect the power cable and the signal cable to the system board. See Internal cable routing.
