Remove a compute node

This procedure describes how to remove a compute node from your ThinkAgile CP configuration.

Procedure performed by: Solution administrator, ThinkAgile Advantage Support

To remove a compute node from your ThinkAgile CP configuration, perform the following steps:

  1. Obtain the serial number from the web portal’s Hardware page.
    Note

    This step requires administrator-level access.

  2. Shut down the compute node. See Shutting off a compute node.
  3. Physically remove the compute node.
  4. Sign in to the primary interconnect from Support Mode (see Managing Support Mode).

    The username is admin and the password is the one set during the installation.

  5. Run the following command on the primary interconnect:

    > sudo service tacp-network-controller restart

  6. Contact Lenovo Support and request a hardware removal from the database by providing the serial number and the region the hardware is (US or EU).
