Installing an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module

Use this information to install an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module.

Read the safety information in Safety and Installation guidelines.

If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.

To install an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module, complete the following steps.

1. Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see Removing the left-side cover).
2. Remove the air baffle (see Removing the air baffle).
3. Locate the ServeRAID adapter which you will install the memory module. Remove the ServeRAID adapter if necessary.
4. Touch the static-protective package that contains the memory card to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove the memory card from the package.
5. Align the memory module with the connector on the ServeRAID adapter and push it into the connector until it is firmly seated.
