Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.
Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding systems.
Procedure
Touch the static-protective package that contains the hard drive to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the front drive out of the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Assemble the hard drive and drive bracket.

Push the other side of the bracket open.
Insert the pin on the other side to the drive.
Install the screws and make sure that the bracket is secured.

Figure 4. Placing the toolless drive into tray
Align the screws and guiding pins on drives with grooves on the tray.
Flip the bracket handle down until it stops, and the drive will be connected to the backplane automatically by then.
Close the drive tray steadily.
Figure 5. Closing and locking the tray
Push the drive tray all the way in steadily by the blue handle.
Flip both tray locks up to secure the tray so that it will not slide out.
