Installing and configuring the MID Server

The Management, Instrumentation, and Discovery (MID) Server is a Java server that facilitates communication and movement of data between the ServiceNow platform and external applications, data sources, and services.

To install the MID server, setup a MID Server user and role in ServiceNow, and then install and configure the MID Server using one of the following procedures.

  • A MID server as a Windows Service

  • A single MID Server on a Windows system

  • Multiple MID Servers on a single Windows system
