Installing a MID Server as a Windows service

You can install a MID Server as a Windows Service.

Procedure

To run a MID Server as a Windows service, complete the following steps.

  1. Download the MID Server archive file.
    1. From the ServiceNow portal, click Mid Server > Downloads.
    2. Select and download the MID Server for the appropriate operating system
If the download does not begin immediately, try the download later as the system may be busy.
  2. From the system where you want to install the MID Server, click Start.
  3. In the Search box, type command prompt or cmd.exe.
  4. In the results list, right-click Command Prompt or cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. This enables the MID Server to be installed with administrative rights under any Windows User Account Control (UAC) setting
  5. From the command prompt, navigate to \agent in the directory you created for the MID Server files. For example, the path might be C:\ServiceNow\MID Server1\agent.
  6. Run start.bat.
