Before installing Lenovo SDI Management Platform, review the following considerations to help you plan for installation and day-to-day management.

Applying Lenovo SDI Management Platform licenses Lenovo SDI Management Platform is a paid application. A free trial license provides free use of Lenovo SDI Management Platform for up to 90 days. However, after the free trial expires, you must purchase and install a license to continue using applicable Lenovo SDI Management Platform functions and to get platform services and technical support.

Supported hardware and software Ensure that your environment meets the hardware and software requirements for using Lenovo SDI Management Platform.

Firewalls and proxy server Some services and functions of Lenovo SDI Management Platform require access to the Internet. If you have firewalls in your network, configure the firewalls to allow Lenovo SDI Management Platform to access the Internet. If Lenovo SDI Management Platform does not have direct access to the Internet, configure it to use a proxy server.

Port availability Several ports must be available, depending on how the firewalls are implemented in your environment. If the required ports are blocked or used by another process, some Lenovo SDI Management Platform functions might not work.

Network considerations Lenovo SDI Management Platform uses a single subnet (eth0) for management and data communications.
